Pierce Street parking lot now a pay lot

The parking lot located directly east of the Wood Street Parking Garage along Pierce Street has been converted to a non-permitted, 24/7 public pay lot.

“The Passport Parking app gives motorists flexibility in how they access the system to pay for initial parking and also add time without returning to the lot,” says Keene Red Elk, director of logistics.

Motorists will enter the lot and park in an available space. Drivers will need to download the Passport Parking app on their mobile Android or Apple device, create an account, enter zone 6 as the location, input their license plate number, select a desired amount of time and provide payment information. Motorists may also pay online at www.ppprk.com, and those without a smartphone may call 704-207-0597 to pay over the phone.

Effective immediately, the following parking rates will be assessed to all motorists who park in this lot, in addition to a $0.15 convenience fee per transaction:

  • 0-2 hours, $5
  • 2-4 hours, $7
  • 4-6 hours, $9
  • 6-8 hours, $11
  • 8-12 hours, $14
  • 12-24 hours, $18

In alignment with Purdue parking regulations and to avoid receiving a parking citation, drivers should pull into designated parking spaces so the rear license plate faces the drive lane for parking enforcement. Individuals should also ensure they have purchased time through Passport Parking and that it has not expired while the vehicle remains parked in the lot.

Alternate parking for “A,” “B,” and “C” permit holders may be available in nearby locations. Motorists should review the downloadable parking map to see where various parking permits are accepted and obey posted signage.

Questions may be directed to Parking and Transportation Services from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at 765-494-9497 or parking@purdue.edu.
