About 116 Purdue volunteers honored the life and legacy of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. by participating in the MLK Day of Service on Monday (Jan. 17). Volunteers built raised garden beds, prepared pancake mix and laundry powder, and assembled hygiene kits for the homeless and winter kits for Purdue students. Participants also assembled birthday boxes for Food Finders Food Bank and helped clean and pack food at the pantry. The event was coordinated by Boilers in Action.
