Department of Nutrition Science to host fall cooking classes

The Department of Nutrition Science this fall is offering hands-on cooking classes for participants to learn new cooking skills and enjoy fresh delicious food.

Purdue students from Nutrition Science design and teach the classes, which include four to five recipes centered on a theme. All classes are interactive and include instruction, hands-on cooking and a recipe booklet to take home. Attendees are encouraged to bring containers in order to take home portions of the prepared dishes.

Classes scheduled for this fall, all on Wednesdays:

  • Oct. 20: Speedy Meals.
  • Nov. 3: Fall Harvest.
  • Nov. 17: Thanksgiving Leftover Repurpose.
  • Dec. 1: Ho, Ho, Hors d'oeuvres.

Protect Purdue guidelines will be followed, and masks are required during the cooking class. Classes are limited to 10 participants, who must be 18 or older to attend. Classes will be held 5:30-7 p.m. in Lyles-Porter Hall Demonstration Kitchen, Room 1107. Parking is available on the street or in the Harrison Street Parking Garage. For two hours, parking in the garage is $4.
