Assessments for dizziness, balance disorders available through M.D. Steer Audiology Clinic
Purdue’s M.D. Steer Audiology Clinic is offering comprehensive assessments for dizziness and balance disorders.
For many people experiencing dizziness or imbalance, the best option is to see an audiologist specializing in what is known as "vestibular care." The first assessment includes a thorough case history discussion and hearing evaluation to determine if the dizziness and/or imbalance is related to inner ear function. At this first assessment, clinical instructors and graduate students will discuss the individual's history and test results to make recommendations for further vestibular testing needs, which can be scheduled in the clinic on a subsequent day. Clinicians will work with the individual's physicians to help coordinate care and treatment.

The M.D. Steer Audiology Clinic is home to a variety of professional diagnostic and rehabilitative services. A referral from a physician may be required to bill insurance. The clinic accepts Medicare, Anthem and Aetna insurance at this time. All of the students in the accredited clinical program gain clinical experience while working with patients seen at the clinic under the direct supervision of clinical faculty mentors.
The clinic is part of the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, which is housed in the College of Health and Human Sciences.
