Zoom office hours set to learn more about establishing on-campus internships

A Purdue initiative focused on increasing the number of on-campus internship opportunities will be holding Zoom “office hours” from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday (April 19) to answer questions about internships and provide step-by-step guidance through the process.

Those interested in attending may do so through this Zoom link. No registration is required for the office hours.

The COVID-19 pandemic has reduced students’ opportunities for field-based educational experiences, including internships. The Office of the Provost devised a campus internship initiative to combat this pandemic-related drop by generating more opportunities for students to explore career interests and develop professional skills.

Purdue employees are encouraged to consider whether their office could host a student intern. Opportunities can be posted using the Center for Career Opportunities job board. To learn more about how to post an internship opportunity, contact Stephen Roach, director of employer engagement for CCO, at roach23@purdue.edu. To find out more about the process of supervising an intern, contact Jennifer Dobbs-Oates, provost’s fellow for experiential education, at jendo@purdue.edu.

This is a West Lafayette-focused initiative, but persons at Purdue Fort Wayne, Purdue Northwest or Purdue Global who are interested in participating are welcome to attend the office hours or to contact Dobbs-Oates directly at jendo@purdue.edu.
