Women’s Global Health Institute launching new breast cancer research program with Catherine Peachey Fund

The Purdue Women’s Global Health Institute (WGHI) and the Catherine Peachey Fund are announcing a new research program that will support breast cancer research projects led by Purdue faculty.

The launching of the research program is built on the shared interests and goals between WGHI and the Catherine Peachey Fund to promote advances in breast cancer research and treatment and to support research that is best positioned to move from the bench to the clinic. The Catherine Peachey Fund was established in memory of Cathy Peachey, one of the founders of the Indiana Breast Cancer Coalition.

The program provides research funding annually. Proposals from a variety of disciplines, proposals addressing prevention or early detection, and proposals having potential collaborations with clinicians or other collaborations outside Purdue are welcome. The funded project is expected to gather preliminary data to submit competitive applications to external funding agencies, or to seek support from an outside organization (e.g., companies, foundations, etc.) for continuation of the research.

This year’s call for proposal is issued at the WGHI website. The deadline of proposal submission is April 26.
