Provost Conversation to discuss goals of Transformative Education 2.0

Jay Akridge, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs and diversity, is hosting a campuswide conversation about Transformative Education 2.0, one of the five Purdue’s Next Moves. The virtual conversation is scheduled for 3-4 p.m. Thursday (April 22). All faculty, staff and students are encouraged to join.

“Transformative Education 2.0 will build on the success we’ve experienced through the Road Map for Transformative Education as we work toward our goal of offering the most innovative residential learning program in the United States among large research universities,” Akridge says. “This Next Moves investment will help us upgrade and enhance our student support and information systems and processes, expand experiential education, and develop and bring new technologies to our classrooms.”

Transformative Education 2.0 will focus on three initiatives:

  • Road Map Foundations: Propelling Student Success.
  • Strategic Expansion of Experiential Education – Innovation College.
  • Enhancing Student Learning and Classroom Engagement at Scale – Innovation College.

Panelists available to discuss these initiatives and answer questions at the April 22 virtual conversation will be:

  • Jay Akridge, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs and diversity.
  • Beth McCuskey, vice provost for student life.
  • Jenna Rickus, vice provost for teaching and learning.
  • Kristina Wong Davis, vice provost for enrollment management.
  • Cherise Hall, associate provost for finance and administration.
  • Rita Clifford, executive director, IT Enterprise Solutions.

Transformative Education 2.0 is one of the five strategic initiatives of Purdue’s Next Moves, officially launched by the Board of Trustees earlier this month. The Next Moves are designed to advance the University’s competitive advantage in its continuing quest for leadership among the world’s top research and teaching institutions.

Visit the Transformative Education 2.0 website to learn more about the initiative, submit questions and join the provost’s virtual conversation.
