The spring 2021 Parenting in Academia Mini Conference, hosted by the Graduate Parent Support Network at Purdue University, will take place April 20-21. The goal of the event is to better understand the needs of parents in academia, support academic parents and build a community of both parents and allies.

The Parenting in Academia Conference is a free, virtual conference that is open to everyone. Undergraduate parents, graduate parents, parents in academia, those considering parenting in academia, allies and those researching parenting in academia are all encouraged to attend.

The symposium will include a keynote speaker, interactive panel discussions and workshops. Attendees can choose to attend some or all of the sessions on a variety of subjects, including parenting during grad school, how to be a faculty ally of grad students with children, parenting in academia and more. Day one runs 3-6:15 p.m. and day two runs 2-6:30 p.m.

Those interested should register online to participate. A reminder email with Zoom links will be sent before the conference.
