MaPSAC elects vice chair, emeritus members
The Management and Professional Staff Advisory Committee (MaPSAC) elected its next vice chair and emeritus members during its April 14 meeting.
Amanda Emmons, the assistant bursar of payment processing in the Bursar’s Office, was elected vice chair for 2021-22. By MaPSAC protocols, she is thus in line to become chair for 2022-23.
Cameron Ward, the current vice chair for 2020-21, will become chair for 2021-22. Ward is an associate systems engineer in IT customer relations and process management. In MaPSAC, officer and member terms begin June 1 of each year.
Members also elected three of their own who are completing their terms to become nonvoting emeritus members for 2021-22. Their role is to assist with continuity, using their knowledge of the University and MaPSAC's structure and process. The three are Stacey Baisden, Deidre Bush and David Huckleberry. Baisden is completing a year as chair. Bush and Huckleberry both have chaired subcommittees.
MaPSAC meetings this year, including April’s, have been held via WebEx. The traditional May recognition luncheon will not happen due to the coronavirus situation. MaPSAC’s Membership and Communications Subcommittee is working on remote tools to fulfill the orientation of new members, who will be named soon and traditionally attend the May luncheon and participate in orientation as part of the June meeting.
