Purdue’s Steps to Leaps Steering Committee is inviting faculty and staff to participate in sessions designed to foster the application of Steps to Leaps pillars in academic and social programs.

The Steps to Leaps Everyday Applications series will offer guidance and opportunities to discuss best practices in integrating Steps to Leaps pillars into programs, classrooms and more. The program will consult participants on ways to align program outcomes and incorporate Steps to Leaps language into new and already existing engagement opportunities.

Participants also will be able to share their own success stories, ask questions and connect with colleagues and Steps to Leaps resources. This new series is designed to educate participants and review programs, courses and activities that already incorporate Steps to Leaps pillars.

“We encourage faculty, staff and teams to bring their programs, courses or projects to this working meeting time,” says Katie Dufault, director of Purdue Academic Success Center. “We will be available to answer questions about Steps to Leaps pillars, help draw connections to the great work they are already doing and share resources related to the pillars that may assist their efforts. This could be a great opportunity for instructors revising a seminar course.”

Steps to Leaps is a collaborative, campuswide effort to foster lifelong habits and promote a growth mindset in five pillars – leadership and professional development, well-being, impact, network building and grit. Steps to Leaps was created by students and staff under the care and direction of the Office of the Provost and is aligned with long-term University goals under the Purdue Road Map for Transformative Undergraduate Education.
