PURCE webinar to focus on how social policies affect migration
The Purdue University Research Center in Economics (PURCE) webinar on Feb. 25 will focus on how social policies affect migration.
Kevin Mumford, the Kozuch Director of PURCE and associate professor of economics at Purdue, will host the live webinar accompanied by PhD student Dan Bonin, who is advised by Mumford.
How do social polices – particularly ones considered controversial – affect migration in the United States? Are people motivated to move due to enactment of a new social policy in their city or state? How has politically motivated migration affected polarization in the U.S.? Bonin will address these questions, his findings, and his PhD experience. After graduation, Bonin will be joining the federal Department of Agriculture as a research economist for the department’s Economic Research Service.
The webinar will be held at 11-11:45 a.m., and registration is available online. A Zoom link will be provided in the registration confirmation email.
