Nominations sought for award recognizing exceptional teaching, instructional support during pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic required extraordinary efforts by professors and instructors and the many people who support them. The Teaching Academy and Office of the Provost are soliciting nominations for Teaching and Instructional Support Award to recognize the extraordinary and innovative ways that Purdue faculty, instructors and staff strived to overcome the challenges of the pandemic.
Department heads are asked to submit nominations of up to five individuals (faculty, lecturers, staff or graduate students) in recognition of their efforts in innovation, student support, in-person learning environment, mentoring, or other exceptional work. Small teaching or staff teams may be submitted as a single nominee. Departments do not have to nominate someone for each category, and more than one nominee can be identified in the same category. Faculty and staff also are encouraged to contact their department head to suggest individuals for these awards.
All nominees will receive University recognition and a certificate of award for the Teaching and Instructional Support Award. In addition, all nominees will be invited to apply for an additional special recognition of exceptional effort and impact.
The nomination process is short; nominators should submit only a few bullet points or a brief description (less than 200 words) explaining the nomination. No additional supporting materials are needed. Nominations are due April 2.
