Special preparations made to livestream PMU Veterans Day tribute

Purdue will hold an intimate, invitation-only Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. today (Nov. 11) in the Great Hall of Purdue Memorial Union. Attendance will be limited in order to maintain safety of participants and to follow Protect Purdue protocols, but all members of the community are invited to participate by watching a livestream of the tribute.

The livestream will be available online at 11 a.m. and a recording will be available on the PSUB Facebook page shortly after the event. Invitations to the event were sent to employees with a veteran designation, and attendance will be limited to the first 40 respondents.

The ceremony will include a presentation of the colors by Purdue’s Tri-service Color Guard; pre-recorded performances of songs including the national anthem and “Armed Forces Medley”; addresses from military-affiliated students and campus leaders; and a ceremonial three-volley gun salute by Purdue students.

Scheduled speakers are:

* President of the Purdue Student Veteran Organization.
* Zane Reif, senior director of Purdue Memorial Union.
* Shelby Bradley, director of spirit and tradition for the Purdue Student Union Board.

The event is co-sponsored and organized by Purdue Student Union Board and Purdue Veterans Success Center. Any questions can be addressed to Bradley at psubtrad@purdue.edu.
