Season of Sharing accepting gifts for local children, families through Dec. 11

Season of Sharing, an annual program that helps local nonprofits provides gifts to children and families, will last through Dec. 11.

Purdue's Civic Engagement & Leadership Development Office is partnering with community organizations to collect gifts for Mental Health America’s local chapter, the YWCA Domestic Violence Shelter, the local Salvation Army.

Examples of gift requests include toys, gift cards, clothing and winter accessories. To see a full list of gift requests, visit the online portal listed below. Gifts collected will go to children, teens, adults with intellectual or development disabilities and families in need.

To register and select which gifts you would like to donate, follow one of these three methods:

* Online: Click here to see a list of requests and to register for one or more gifts. You will receive a confirmation email from the Civic Engagement & Leadership Development Office.

* By phone: Call 765-494-1926 to have tags sent to your office by campus mail. This method is the easiest for departments or offices that would like to participate as a group.

* In person (remember to follow all Protect Purdue protocols): Visit the Civic Engagement & Leadership Development Office in the Krach Leadership Center, Room 336, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. A staff member will help you select and check out gift requests listed on tree ornaments and tags.

Season of Sharing gifts must be brought unwrapped to Krach Leadership Center, Room 336, by 5 p.m. on Dec. 11. Although all gifts must be brought in unwrapped, donations of wrapping paper rolls are welcome.
