‘For Hire’ program assists Purdue units with special event needs

The “For Hire” program offered by Purdue for Life Special Events is available to help Purdue colleges, schools, programs or other units elevate their signature events.

The program offers a one-stop shop for event needs by simplifying the role of the host. The Purdue for Life Special Events team extends the opportunity to use their services and expertise, through exclusive contacts, resources and discounts, to help plan events.

Since 2016, the “For Hire” program has provided program development, financial management, scripting, vendor management, food and beverage, decor, facility reservations, speaker arrangements, travel/hotel accommodations, registration, marketing, room setup and audiovisual services.

“We understand nothing takes the place of having those face-to-face interactions with your alumni, donors and friends,” says Vanessa Buntin, senior director of special events. “However, in a time marked by uncertainty of visitors returning to campus, it is now more important than ever to ensure our Purdue family remains engaged with the University.

“A great way to stay connected is through virtual events. Virtual events still provide an opportunity to share the exciting things happening in your area, but with added benefits. They are less expensive, save time and engage more people.”
