Nutrition Science needs adult volunteers to participate in practicum course

Adults who are 30 years old or older are needed to participate in a practicum course for senior students in the Department of Nutrition Science.

Students in NUTR 41500 are majoring in nutrition, fitness and health. Each student is assigned to an interested adult and is to help that person achieve his or her nutrition, fitness or other health-related goals.

The students will assess the client’s nutrition and fitness status, develop recommendations and/or plans individualized to that client and provide support and follow-up over 10 weeks. Weekly meetings begin in mid-September and continue through November. All interactions will be virtual in nature -- conducted via WebEx -- and not recorded. Students’ grades are not dependent on the client’s actions or progress.

Spots for clients will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the spots are filled, names will be added to a waiting list for the spring semester as needed.

Individuals interested in participating should contact Rachel Clark at RachelClark@purdue.edu and use the word “client” in the subject line.
