CityBus campus route changes
Similar to the de-densification activities occurring in Purdue’s campus facilities, CityBus modifications are reducing ridership density. As a result, a number of CityBus route changes have been made, effective Monday (Aug. 24). A summary of route changes is included on the CityBus website, and several modifications are highlighted below.
Increased frequency on Tower Acres Loop, Gold Loop, and Ross Ade Loop
Transit vehicle resources and routes have been modified to increase the number of buses operating per hour and decrease the overall number of riders per bus.
The Gold Loop will run every eight minutes instead of every 15. Similarly, the Ross Ade Loop and Tower Acres Loop will run every eight minutes and six minutes instead of 10 minutes and eight minutes, respectively.
Consolidation or suspension of routes: Silver Loop, Outer Loop, South Campus Loop
The Silver Loop, Outer Loop and South Campus Loop have been suspended or consolidated with other routes for the 2020-21 academic year. Most stops that were part of the Silver Loop are now serviced by the Tower Acres Loop or Gold Loop.
The Ross Ade Loop route has been modified to provide coverage that the South Campus Loop previously encompassed, including access to south campus and the Discovery Park parking lot.
Individuals who previously used the Outer Loop should consult the CityBus app to review alternate bus stops and routes.
Airport service
The Gold Loop will now provide service to the Purdue University Airport every eight minutes from 7 a.m.-6:15 p.m. Monday-Friday. The Black Loop will provide evening service to the airport in alignment with class schedules.
