Toastmasters at Purdue to commemorate 5-year anniversary with open house

Purdue faculty, staff, students and alumni are invited to participate in a virtual open house held by the University-affiliated Toastmasters club on the West Lafayette campus to help celebrate the club’s five-year anniversary.

The Toastmasters at Purdue open house will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on June 19 on Zoom. The open house will feature speeches from a Toastmasters district leader, club leaders and club members.

The open house will provide an opportunity for the public to experience a Toastmasters meeting and see how the club helps members improve public speaking and leadership skills.

Toastmasters at Purdue is a professional development club and is affiliated with Toastmasters International, a nonprofit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs. The organization's membership exceeds 358,000 individuals in more than 16,800 clubs in 143 countries. Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped people from diverse backgrounds become more confident speakers, communicators and leaders.

Registration for the open house is required by June 18. A Zoom meeting link will be provided upon registration.
