Recipients named for 2020 Purdue Online Excellence Awards

Purdue Online and the Office of the Provost have announced the recipients of the 2020 Purdue Online Excellence Awards.

The awards are intended to recognize professional accomplishment and to promote creative and effective approaches to learning delivered via digital education media. The awards are accompanied by a certificate and a $2,500 cash payment.

The 2020 recipients are:

* Jennifer Simpson, clinical professor and associate head, Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, director of clinical education in Audiology, West Lafayette; and Michael Heinz, professor, Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and Biomedical Engineering, West Lafayette, received the Purdue Online Excellence in Course Design and Teaching (Credit) award for the course SLHS 61900 Integrative Audiology Grand Rounds.

* Jennifer Hughes, limited term lecturer, English, West Lafayette, received the Purdue Online Excellence in Course Design and Teaching (Credit) award for the course English 10600 First-Year Composition.

* Rebecca Herman, graduate business professor, Purdue Global, and Randy Roberts, 150th Anniversary Professor and Distinguished Professor of History, West Lafayette, received the Purdue Online Excellence in Course Design and Teaching (Non-Credit) award for the noncredit course Take Me Out to the Ballgame: 150 Years.

* Wanju Huang, clinical assistant professor, Learning Design and Technology (Curriculum and Instruction), West Lafayette, received the Purdue Online Innovative Course Design and Use of Technology award for the course EDCI 57200 Learning Systems Design.

* Lisa Keefe, instructional design manager, Teaching and Learning Technologies, West Lafayette; Lynn Hegewald, technical training design engineer, Purdue Manufacturing Extension Partnership; Jeremiah Sinks, workforce development specialist, Purdue Manufacturing Extension Partnership; Louis Dierckman, video production specialist, Teaching and Learning Technologies, West Lafayette; Lisa Wallace, executive director of curriculum, Curriculum and Innovation, Purdue Global; Jahna Kahrhoff, assistant dean of curriculum, Curriculum and Innovation, Purdue Global; Sarah Cline, curriculum specialist, Curriculum and Innovation, Purdue Global; Erin Flage, multimedia developer, Curriculum and Innovation, Purdue Global; Susan Lantz, editor, Curriculum and Innovation, Purdue Global; and Beth Damon, editor, Curriculum and Innovation, Purdue Global, received the Purdue Online MVP: Instructional Design and Support award for the noncredit course Problem Solving using PDCA, A3 and Root Cause Analysis.
