Member and officer transitions highlighted the May 13 meeting of MaPSAC, the Management and Professional Staff Advisory Committee. The meeting took place via WebEx and did without the traditional luncheon thanking outgoing members and welcoming new ones.

The gavel was passed virtually to the 2020-21 chair, Stacey Baisden, department operations administrator in the Department of Political Science, who was vice chair for 2019-20. The new vice chair, elected in April, is Cameron Ward, associate systems engineer in Information Technology’s End User Experience area. By MaPSAC protocols, Ward is to be chair the following year.

MaPSAC thanked those completing their terms as of June 1: Malissa Ayala, Jason Fitzsimmons, Alex Gulik, Danielle Latta, Annie McDonald, John O’Malley and Dan Vukobratovich. Vukobratovich is completing a year as APSAC/MaPSAC chair. Ayala, O’Malley and Vukobratovich were elected in April to be emeritus members for 2020-21. Emeritus members serve a nonvoting year after their term to provide support, counsel and continuity.

Completing a year as emeritus members were Katie Brothers, Eric Johnson, Allison Lampley and Brittany Stephens.

Members of MaPSAC, which is a part of University governance, facilitate information exchange between administration and employees, serve on University committees, work with administrators on various decisions, and help individual employees with issues. The official transition date is June 1, at which time members will take their seats and begin serving on MaPSAC subcommittees and University committees.
