Policy on dispute resolution for staff

Effective Sunday (March 1), graduate student staff, postdoctoral researchers, clinical residents and clinical interns are covered by the policy on Dispute Resolution for Staff (VI.D.1). This change reduces duplication in policies and promotes consistency by eliminating policy VI.D.2, which outlined a separate grievance process for these employees. The dispute resolution process eliminates the mandated department review step and instead offers a voluntary alternative dispute resolution (ADR) step, much like a mediation. The policy also uses a formal review process if the employee chooses to skip the ADR step or is unable to reach an agreement through ADR.

Visit the new and revised policies page on the University Policy Office website for a link to the full text of this systemwide policy. Note: This policy does not apply to Purdue University Global, as it maintains its own policies.
