Mauer named associate vice provost for faculty affairs
The Office of the Provost has announced the appointment of Lisa Mauer as associate vice provost for faculty affairs, effective Jan. 1.
Mauer is a professor of food science, director of the Center for Food Safety Engineering, and a member of the Whistler Center for Carbohydrate Research. She has received numerous research, teaching, mentoring and advising awards during her 18 years at Purdue, and in 2017-18, she was a fellow of the Big Ten Academic Alliance Academic Leadership Program. She has served as interim associate vice provost for faculty affairs since July 1.
“We met with a number of talented and well-qualified candidates during the search process,” says Peter Hollenbeck, vice provost for faculty affairs. “Lisa’s faculty background, leadership experience and personal perspective helped her emerge as our choice for the permanent position. She will be an excellent addition to our team in the Provost’s Office, and because she served in an interim role for nearly six months, she will have a running start on major faculty affairs initiatives.”
The associate vice provost for faculty affairs provides leadership for initiatives that support faculty recruitment, hiring, retention, development and career success.
