Loretta Lynch and Jeff Flake, both former major figures in the U.S. government, will share an onstage conversation at Purdue’s Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration on Wednesday (Jan. 22). Professor Cheryl Cooky, chair of the University Senate, will moderate that talk. The event theme will be the semester theme of “Democracy, Civility, and Freedom of Expression.” It’s a time to focus on ideals and values for living as a people. Don’t Miss It!

JANUARY 22

Purdue’s celebration of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. will feature a moderated talk with Loretta Lynch, former U.S. attorney general, and Jeff Flake, former U.S. senator from Arizona. The moderator will be Professor Cheryl Cooky, University Senate chair. The event will employ the semester’s Diversity and Inclusion theme of “Democracy, Civility, and Freedom of Expression.” 7 p.m. STEW, Loeb Playhouse. “Alice in Wonderland,” in an imaginative staging by Tout à Trac, uses pop-up books, masks and puppets to lead the audience on a Wonderland adventure. 3 p.m. STEW, Loeb Playhouse. Tickets $22-$30. Pre-show magical activities at 2 p.m. in Stewart Center west lobby. Event
