Systemwide policy and standard update

The Executive Policy Review Group took action on the following systemwide policies.

Institutional Conflicts of Interest (III.B.6)
This new interim policy is effective July 1. The policy helps to ensure that the financial and business interests of the University and its officials do not influence the University’s research, teaching, outreach or business transactions. The interim status is effective for six months while feedback is gathered.

Identity Theft Prevention Program (VIII.A.2)
Updates to this policy -- mainly to the definitions -- are effective July 15.

Terms and Conditions of Employment of Lecturers (VI.F.4)
Updates to this policy are effective Aug. 1. Communication from the Office of the Provost about the changes is ongoing.

Authentication and Authorization (VII.B.1) and Remote Access to IT Resources (VII.B.4)
These two policies are withdrawn effective July 15. They are superseded by the Authentication, Authorization and Access Controls standard noted below.

In addition, the following new systemwide standards are effective July 15.

  • Authentication, Authorization and Access Controls (S-13)
  • Biometric Technologies (S-14)
  • Privileged Accounts and Service Accounts (S-15)
  • User Credentials (S-16)
