Reminder: Staff must set 2020 annual performance goals by Oct. 4
Earlier this year, staff completed evaluations in SuccessFactors for the first time. It is now time to develop performance goals for 2020, which must be entered into SuccessFactors by Oct. 4. Once entered, supervisors and employees can easily edit goals and track progress toward completion.
Note: Purdue University Global employees already have completed their performance goals for 2020.
Any solid performance management process begins with having specific and measurable goals against which employee performance can be evaluated. Performance goals and associated metrics are an essential part of driving a culture of high performance and accountability. Therefore, as employees and supervisors determine goals for the coming year, it is important to include measurable outcomes in the “Metrics” section of the Goal Plan.
All staff members must have goals assigned for each performance period. Both employees and managers have the ability and responsibility to add goals into SuccessFactors. Managers can add goals directly for those employees who do not have easy access to a computer.
Supervisors and managers are encouraged to review the following resources and discuss goals with their employees:
- Introduction to goals management video.
- Introduction to cascading goals video.
- Goals management quick reference guide for supervisors.
- LinkedIn Learning goals training playlist.
