Purdue students are invited to attend a campus-wide study abroad fair at 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 28) in the Purdue Memorial Union’s South Ballroom.
The fair will feature, among others, 200 programs in 32 countries available for the spring 2020 semester ranging from one week to one semester. More information is available online.
This summer, more than 1,500 undergraduate students participated in a study abroad program. Some students studied rainforests and reefs in Australia and New Zealand while others learned how the Bunong indigenous people in Cambodia have incorporated elephants as part of their culture for many generations. Other students gained internship experience in various locations including Sydney, Australia; London, U.K.; Hannover, Germany; and Shanghai, China.
Purdue students also can learn about the study abroad initiative as part of Purdue Moves here. Part of the Purdue Moves program is to provide scholarships to qualified undergraduate students who participate in study abroad programs. The initiative has helped the University nearly double the number of undergraduate students who studied abroad during 2017-18 in comparison to 2012-13.
From fall 2018 to summer 2019, over 40% of the 2,383 undergraduates who participated in study abroad programs were supported by Purdue Moves.
