Office of the Dean of Students offering Student of Concern resources

As the semester begins, the Office of the Dean of Students on the West Lafayette campus wants to remind the campus community of several resources that are available to faculty, staff and students. Their goal is to assist in creating healthy and supportive environments for students.

Student Resource Card: A new resource geared toward students is the Student Resource Card. This card is designed as a quick reminder for students of how to inform the Office of the Dean of Students of other students who may be in need of support or resources. These cards are intended to be put on display anywhere students frequently visit and are small enough to be carried in a pocket, purse or wallet.

Student of Concern Guide: All members of the Purdue community can find the Student of Concern Guide beneficial. This guide provides a comprehensive list of resources available to address concerns and emergencies regardless of the day or time. It also provides a list of concerning behaviors; recommendations for addressing concerns with students; and additional information related to reporting and services available to students. This guide serves as an easy reference of resources available to students 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Student of Concern and Behavior Intervention Team presentation

When someone has a concern for a student, completing a Student of Concern Report allows staff within the Office of the Dean of Students to provide outreach and assistance to the student. This hourlong presentation will address concerning behavior, instructions on how to report concerns, and information about what takes place after a report is submitted. Additionally, participants will learn about the Behavior Intervention Team. Presenters will allow time for questions and remain afterward to discuss any specific concerns attendees may have. To sign up for a presentation, go here.
