Instructional Data Processing offering test scoring, evaluation services

Instructional Data Processing (IDP) would like to remind instructors about the services the unit offers.

IDP offers a free test scoring service for instructors interested in giving multiple-choice exams. With a 24-hour turnaround time, IDP’s test scoring service is an efficient and accurate way to handle exams for any size classroom. Reports, which include statistical data that measures student performance, are shared electronically on FileLocker, and a confidential disposal service is offered to eliminate the need for test pickup.

IDP also can assist instructors who prefer short-response exams. IDP now offers a free scanning service for Gradescope users.  Gradescope makes it possible to deliver free-response exam questions to large lecture courses. It decreases grading time and allows for greater consistency across exams by providing detailed rubrics and providing statistical feedback. IDP uploads the scans directly into Gradescope with a high level of reliability, accuracy and security.

IDP offers a free proctoring service for undergraduate courses with more than 70 students to help instructors ensure academic integrity. Graduate students interested in being proctors should contact IDP as well.

IDP services are available to instructors on the West Lafayette campus. IDP is located in Stewart Center, Room G-39. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday (closed 1-2 p.m. Wednesdays). More information on IDP services can be found at www.purdue.edu/idp or by emailing idp@purdue.edu.
