Flu shots available to Purdue community after Oct. 1 via designated locations, flu shot events

Through a multi-facility collaboration, employees will have access to free flu vaccines again this year at multiple locations. The Center for Healthy Living, Purdue Pharmacy and the Nursing Center for Family Health – all on Purdue’s West Lafayette campus -- will be providing flu shots after Oct. 1 for all benefits-eligible employees and spouses and dependents covered on a Purdue medical plan.

Seasonal flu shots are provided at no charge to all benefits-eligible Purdue faculty and staff, as well as spouses and dependents covered on a Purdue medical plan.

“We are excited to again be able to offer multiple location options and event opportunities for members of the Purdue community to get their flu shots,” said Candace Shaffer, director of benefits in Human Resources. "Our flu shot offerings come via a Purdue community effort to ensure our faculty, staff and their loved ones can get their flu shots easily and conveniently.

"We have three designated locations on the West Lafayette campus where individuals can go on their own schedule as well as numerous flu shot events throughout campus that provide even more flexibility to our population. Regional campuses also have flu shot events set up to serve their populations. We hope the increased availability to receive the flu vaccine will increase the number of individuals who get their flu shots this year thus providing our Boilermaker family protection against the virus.”
