Faculty workshop on mentoring graduate students’ writing scheduled

Purdue’s Graduate School and the Purdue Writing Lab are teaming up to offer a workshop for faculty members on mentoring graduate students in their writing. The workshop will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 24 in Wilmeth Active Learning Center, Room 3090.

Faculty will be able to walk away with a better understanding on how to respond to graduate students’ writing and how to empower them, organizers say. Faculty will receive strategy materials to take away and study.

Registration for the event is required and can be done online. The deadline to register is Oct. 23.

This is the initial workshop on mentoring graduate students’ writing. Depending on faculty interest, additional workshops may be scheduled in the future.

For more information on the event, contact Vicki Kennell, associate director of the Purdue Writing Lab, at vkennell@purdue.edu.
