Recipients named for 2019 Purdue Online Excellence Awards

Purdue Online and the Office of the Provost have announced the recipients of the 2019 Purdue Online Excellence Awards.

The awards are intended to recognize professional accomplishment and to promote creative and effective approaches to learning delivered via digital education media. The awards are accompanied by a certificate and a $2,500 cash payment.

The 2019 recipients are:

* Melissa Kenzig, limited-term lecturer for the Public Health Graduate Program in the College of Health and Human Sciences, West Lafayette, received the Purdue Online Excellence in Course Design and Teaching (Credit) award for the course HK 57601: Theoretical Foundations of Health Behavior.

* Kharon Grimmet, clinical assistant professor, and Angela Holtsclaw, clinical instructor, both in Educational Studies, West Lafayette, received the Purdue Online Innovative Course Design and Use of Technology award for the courses EDPS 56600: Clinical Practice II (Student Teaching Experience) and EDPS 56010: Clinical Practice II (Student Teaching).

* Holly Fiock, instructional designer in Curriculum and Instruction, West Lafayette, received the Purdue Online MVP: Instructional Design and Support award for multiple courses in the Learning Design and Technology program.

Faculty recipients of Purdue Online Excellence awards will be honored at the Provost’s Faculty Awards Convocation on May 7. Staff recipients will be recognized at a Purdue Online gathering on May 9.
