June 30 deadline to complete physical, biometrics to receive Healthy Boiler incentive pay in July
Third quarter activity for the 2019 Healthy Boiler Wellness Program – introduced in 2018 to promote wellness within the University community – ends June 30. The fourth and final quarter of the 2019 Healthy Boiler Wellness incentive initiative begins July 1 and ends Sept. 30.
Employees who complete their annual physical and upload their biometric information to the Healthy Boiler portal between April 1 and June 30 will receive incentive payments in July. The program provides employees the opportunity to earn $325 (employee only) or $650 (employee + spouse, employee + child or employee + family) as additions to their health savings account or health reimbursement account.
As a reminder, both the physical and biometric screening required for 2019 incentives are provided at no cost to employees on all three Purdue medical plans as preventive benefits.
“We continue to be very pleased with the response we are seeing from our employees across the University,” says Candace Shaffer, director of Benefits in Human Resources. “Since January, we have seen our Purdue community become more engaged in their health and wellness through the Healthy Boiler program. The first quarter numbers support that observation, and we expect to see the program continue to grow. It’s a win-win for all involved to have a source that not only rewards individuals in regard to their well-being but also rewards them financially as a result of their health and wellness accomplishments.”
Funds earned each quarter are based on completed items and are deposited into an employee’s health savings account or health reimbursement account. For 2019, first quarter deposits were seen in January, second quarter earnings deposited in April, third quarter earnings will deposit in July and fourth quarter earnings will deposit in October.
A report in aggregate is provided to Human Resources at the end of each quarter indicating how much each person should receive based on completed items. Human Resources will not receive any personal health information related to incentives completed.
Eligibility to receive the incentive requires completing an annual physical and biometrics screening between Oct. 1, 2018, and Sept. 30, 2019.
Employees can register for and log activities via the Healthy Boiler Wellness Program portal.
