Discovery Park announces additional track for Connected and Autonomous Vehicle Transportation workshop

Purdue’s Discovery Park, in partnership with the Joint Transportation Research Program, the Purdue Policy Research Institute, and the Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security, is hosting a Connected and Autonomous Transportation Vehicle (CATV) workshop for Purdue faculty and research staff. The free event will take place 1-5 p.m. April 24 in the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship, Room 121.

The workshop will include a general information session with a one-hour presentation on the current federal landscape on the policy, funding opportunities, and current focus areas and insight into CATV. Additionally, Purdue faculty will conduct breakout sessions on each of the theme areas to spark collaborations and determine opportunities for Purdue to help shape the CATV landscape and prepare Purdue researchers to capitalize on current and future funding opportunities.

An additional track on human factors and simulation has been added to the agenda:

  • Safety and security -- Led by Dongyan Xu, the Samuel Conte Professor of Computer Science.
  • Connected infrastructure -- Led by Darcy Bullock, director of Joint Transportation Research Program and the Lyles Family Professor of Civil Engineering.
  • Policy, law and societal impacts -- Led by Rosalee Clawson, interim director of Purdue Policy Research Institute and professor of political science.
  • Algorithms, sensing and connectivity/systems and resiliency -- Led by Greg Shaver, professor of mechanical engineering.
  • Human factors and simulation -- Led by Dustin Souders,  PPRI-PPRI Postdoctoral Autonomous Vehicle Policy Fellow.

Seating for the workshop is limited.  Anyone interested in participating is encouraged to register for the event via Qualtrics by April 17.
