Butler Center to host End of Semester Reception, recognize research project grant recipients

The Susan Bulkeley Butler Center for Leadership Excellence will host an End of Semester Reception at 4:30-6 p.m. April 25 at Purdue Memorial Union's Anniversary Drawing Room. The recipients of the inaugural research project grants funded jointly by the Butler Center and two new endowments will be recognized at the reception.

The grants recognize an assistant professor and an associate professor who plan to undertake projects highlighting and/or benefiting women in academe. This year, the focus was on intersectionality (intersections of gender and/or race and/or ethnicity, and/or class, and/or nationality, and/or sexuality and/or other differences). Aimed at furthering the mission of the Butler Center, the grants support the work of an individual (or individuals) interested in developing leadership capacity of women, advancing inclusion and representation of women in academic decision making, or some similar focus.

 The 2019 recipients are:

  • Malathi Raghavan, clinical associate professor, College of Veterinary Medicine.
  • Anne Lucietto, assistant professor, Purdue Polytechnic Institute.

The reception is open to all faculty, staff and students. Entertainment and refreshments will be offered. Click here to register. For more information, contact the Butler Center at ButlerCenter@purdue.edu.
