Purdue names executive director of financial aid
Heidi Carl has been named executive director of financial aid for the Purdue West Lafayette campus. Carl will begin her responsibilities on Feb. 18 and will report to Kristina Wong Davis, vice provost for enrollment management.
As the executive director of financial aid, Carl will provide leadership, vision and strategy for the University’s financial aid policy and practices. She will work alongside the vice provost to build and maintain close working relationships with internal stakeholders such as academic leadership, university development and student affairs, and provide an exceptional financial aid experience for Purdue students.
“We are extremely excited to have Heidi joining our team,” says Wong Davis. “Heidi brings to Purdue a wealth of knowledge and experience not just in financial aid, but in Indiana as well. The enrollment management team continues to look toward strategically serving our Boilermaker students and Heidi will certainly enable us to ensure our financial aid dollars are in the hands of the students for whom they will make the largest difference.”
Carl has worked at Wabash College since 2013, when she was hired as the director of financial aid. After being promoted in 2016, she served as the associate dean for enrollment and director of financial aid, where she currently shares responsibility for the Enrollment Management division. Before her time at Wabash College, Carl spent over 15 years at the University of Indianapolis. She started off working in both the financial aid and admissions offices, and eventually worked her way up to become the associate director of financial aid.
Carl is a two-time graduate of Western Michigan University, having earned her bachelor’s degree in communications and her master’s degree from the Education and Counseling Psychology program with a concentration in student personnel administration.
