Nutrition workshop, cooking demonstration scheduled to celebrate sesquicentennial

The Nutrition Education Programs area with Purdue Recreation & Wellness is offering two events in March in celebration of Purdue’s sesquicentennial.

Giant Leaps into Nutrition Workshop
7-8 p.m. Wednesday (March 20), Córdova Recreational Sports Center, Wellness Conference Room.
Nutrition is always changing. We have made giant leaps in the field of health, and there will be more to come. Join us in taking a journey through the history of nutrition. What are the current diet recommendations, where do they come from, and how have they changed over the years? There is no registration needed for this free workshop.

Outta This World Cooking Demonstration
7-8 p.m. March 25, Córdova Recreational Sports Center, Demonstration Kitchen.
Celebrate 150 years of giant leaps at this space-themed demonstration. Recipes include Spinach Salad with Apples and Astro-nuts, Mac and Moon Cheese Bake, Homemade Moon Pies, and Tang Smoothies. Cost is $10. Sign up at Member Services in the Co-Rec or online.

The events are open to students, faculty, staff, retirees, alumni and their families. For more information on available programs, call 765-496-1788.
