SuccessFactors training continuing; resources available to prepare for go-live

Training kicked off in November in advance of the transition to SuccessFactors in January 2019, and training materials are available through the training webpage. Process documentation outlines who performs the task and links to the appropriate quick reference guide, which provides step-by-step instruction. The webpage will be continually updated through deployment, and continued communications will advise of additional or updated resources.

The first training phase included communicating available resources to those who will participate in creating positions in SuccessFactors, recruiting new employees, onboarding new employees, payroll processes and employee data changes (personnel actions). Training communications were organized by roles -- specifically Business Support and Department Support. Role information and descriptions are available online.

Business support

Business support roles are assigned to business office positions that will perform or assist with human resource-related and payroll-related processes and tasks. They were invited to:

* Attend a two-part Payroll Overview session led by Linda Baer and the Payroll team.
* Review quick reference guides related to employee data changes and payroll-related processes.
* Participate in an online course demonstrating terminations in the system.
* Open labs to practice specific tasks outlined in the overview sessions and employee data changes.

Department support

The department support role bundles position management, recruitment process and onboarding coordination. Department supports roles are assigned to administrative positions such as secretaries, administrative assistants, etc., within the department organization. The following information was provided through email communications:

* An online course that demonstrated how to create a position, plus reference documentation.
* Links to references and videos for onboarding coordinator tasks.
* Links to recruitment processes, references and videos.
* An invitation to those currently hiring for vacant positions to attend an instructor-led session prior to January for hands-on experience with the process

The most recent Transform Purdue newsletter outlined the current training resources by task, help resources and tips in accessing SharePoint or the Learning Management System.

Supervisors and managers received their first email communication last week outlining training resources related to position management, recruiting and onboarding. Supervisors have a similar role bundle to Department Support.

The second training phase will start later this week. It will cover SuccessFactors navigation, time off and timekeeping. Both supervisors and employees will receive direct email communications related to these topics and associated training resources.
