Search launched for Discovery Park fellow

Discovery Park has launched a search for a Discovery Park fellow. The fellow will work closely with Purdue’s vice president for Discovery Park and Discovery Park center directors and administration team on the area's priorities and ongoing academic and research activities.

In particular, the fellow will work with Discovery Park center directors, colleges and faculty across campus to help articulate key priorities consistent with a shared vision for Discovery Park, and to help create new transdisciplinary teams focused on the priorities. The fellow also will work with Purdue’s federal team and consultants to understand federal and legislative research priorities and map those to Discovery Park and Purdue.

Aligned with Discovery Park’s strategic framework, and consistent with emerging Purdue and national research priorities, the fellow also will help design and manage a follow-on to the Big Idea Challenge program, which was launched in 2017 by Discovery Park. Additionally, the fellow will help design and create a system to track and monitor Discovery Park’s scientific and academic metrics, as well as its impact on participating academic colleges and the University overall.

Candidates must be tenured Purdue faculty in any of the academic colleges. The position is a 50 percent appointment beginning in the spring semester of 2018-19 and including summer support. The position is renewable for an additional year, and funds will be made available for expenses related to the position. Terms will be negotiated with the selected candidate’s academic department and college.

Discovery Park would like the successful candidate to start during the spring semester but understands the effort may need to ramp up as teaching commitments and schedules will have already been determined for spring.

Candidates should apply by sending their CV to Cliff Wojtalewicz, assistant director of Discovery Park, at cliffw@purdue.edu by Dec. 18.
