Purdue faculty, staff, retirees and students once again demonstrated strong support for this year’s Purdue United Way Campaign, raising $755,860 as of Wednesday’s (Nov. 14) campaign celebration.

The ePledge website will be active until Nov. 23 for those who still wish to pledge.

On Wednesday (Nov. 14), Purdue volunteers and United Way of Greater Lafayette leaders gathered to celebrate the efforts of the campaign. The campaign goal for this year is $825,000.

Rhonda Phillips, dean of Purdue’s Honors College and this year’s campaign chair, told the crowd they should be proud of the work they accomplished throughout the campaign.

“It’s moving to see how many people are truly excited about doing this together as a community,” Phillips said after the celebration. “It warms my heart to see the campus community rally together to help make a difference in the lives of others.”

Tom Murtaugh, campaign chair for United Way of Greater Lafayette and Tippecanoe County commissioner, and Megan Dale, director of Purdue United Way, also spoke and thanked Purdue volunteers for their dedication. Dale highlighted different events that were held on campus to help raise funds for this year’s campaign.

Purdue faculty and staff can use the ePledge system to make donations. As in years past, donors have the ability to donate an unrestricted gift to the United Way of Greater Lafayette or can choose a specific agency for their donations. Gifts can be made in various ways, including payroll deduction or a one-time donation. To make a gift via ePledge, visit www.purdue.edu/unitedway and click on the button "Give Now."
