Graduate School launches theses and research outputs repository

Purdue's Graduate School now will host theses and associated research outputs on a new Figshare for Institutions portal

The Graduate School repository, called “Hammer,” will be available for all graduate students to submit completed theses and associated data, from data sets to audio and video to lab notebooks. Graduate students will be able to create portfolios of their final projects, receiving digital object identifiers for each individual research output and having the option to group them into collections for wider dissemination.

“The Hammer repository is the culmination of a vision for faster turnaround times, broader accessibility, and greater support of the diverse outputs of the innovative research being done by our master’s and doctoral students," says Linda Mason, dean of the Graduate School. "The partnership with Figshare will be extremely beneficial in helping the Graduate School and Purdue University move forward in broadening the access and availability of our results by the public at large.”

The Graduate School at Purdue University oversees educational programs that include more than 80 graduate programs at the West Lafayette campus and nearly 40 programs at four additional campuses across the State of Indiana. Figshare is an international web-based platform to help academic institutions manage, disseminate and measure the public attention of all their research outputs. It is part of the Digital Science technology company.
