Center for Healthy Living workshop to focus on saying ‘yes' while balancing work/life

The Center for Healthy Living on Purdue's West Lafayette campus is offering a "How to Say ‘Yes!'" workshop in an effort to help attendees find ways to avoid stress caused by overloading responsibilities during the holidays. Benefits-eligible faculty, employees and dependents covered on a Purdue medial plan are invited to attend.

The workshop, led by Amanda Douglas, employee assistance counselor at the center, will focus on communication strategies that allow individuals to say “yes” while still being able to take care of themselves and their balance between work life and home life.

“I’m excited for the seasonal timing of this presentation,” Douglas says. “The holidays often provide many opportunities to practice commitment balance, and this workshop will help attendees learn how to do so.”

The workshop will take place at 12:10-12:50 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 5) in Córdova Recreational Sports Center, Wellness Conference Room. Those interested should register by Tuesday (Dec. 4) via the Healthy Boiler Portal at www.healthyboiler.com or by calling CHL at 765-494-0111.

The center is open 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. Lab hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For medical consultation after hours or on weekends, contact the Anthem NurseLine at 888-279-5449 for assistance or schedule a virtual appointment via LiveHealth Online.
