Campus departments continue to fundraise for United Way campaign; comedy hypnotist to present on campus Thursday

Purdue employees are continuing to organize fundraising events for 2018 Purdue United Way Campaign, which kicked off in September. Some upcoming events include a comedy hypnotist on Thursday (Nov. 1) and several online auctions.

Megan Dale, director of Purdue United Way, would like to encourage Purdue employees who have not yet pledged toward the campaign to do so before the campaign ends on Nov. 14. Pledges are not automatically renewed from year to year, so employees need to log on to the Purdue United Way website to renew their pledge for this year. Faculty and staff should note that BoilerKey, Purdue’s new two-factor authentication service, will be required beginning today (Oct. 30) for access. Here is a list of events:

* The College of Science is hosting an event featuring TG Rivers, a comedy hypnotist, at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday (Nov. 1) in Wilmeth Active Learning Center, Hiler Theater. Tickets are $5 in advance and $10 at the door. Wristbands can be purchased from Haas Hall, Room 164; Hampton Hall, Room 2169; Mathematics Building, Room 931; Lilly Hall, Room 1-118; Lawson Computer Science Building, Room 3144-A; and Wetherill Laboratory, Room 265. * Dine at Chipotle Mexican Grill at 200 W. State St. from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today (Oct. 30) for Krannert School of Management. Those attending should either bring this flier, show it on their smartphone or tell the cashier they’re supporting the cause to make sure that 33 percent of the proceeds will be donated to Purdue's United Way campaign.

* Civil Engineering and Chi Epsilon will be selling Chick-fil-A sandwiches, along with cookies and chips, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday (Oct. 31) on the mall side of Materials and Electrical Engineering. This is the last day for the fundraiser.

* The College of Veterinary Medicine is hosting an online auction through Wednesday (Oct. 31).

* Purdue Statistics is hosting an online auction now until Thursday (Nov. 1). 

* The College of Education is hosting an online auction now until Thursday (Nov. 1).

* Dine at Panera at 328 E. State St. from 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 7 for Krannert School of Management. Those attending should bring this flier or show an electronic version to the cashier for a portion of proceeds to go to the campaign.
