Alcohol and drug document to be distributed to all employees

Faculty and staff will receive an email next week containing a link to a document with the University's comprehensive Alcohol- and Drug-Free Campus and Workplace Policy and related information.

Purdue is committed to providing students, faculty, staff and visitors a safe and healthy campus and workplace. The Alcohol- and Drug-Free Campus and Workplace Policy was developed to provide employees with information about expectations, consequences, testing, forms of assistance and other topics.

The University recognizes the health risks associated with controlled substance use and alcohol misuse and is committed to supporting students and employees who seek treatment for these conditions. The University also recognizes that controlled substance use and alcohol misuse diminish workplace and campus safety and undermine the University's ability to fulfill its mission.

Employee Assistance, in the Center for Healthy Living on the West Lafayette campus, offers information and help regarding alcohol and drug abuse. Telephonic assistance is also available for regional employees and those who do not otherwise work on the West Lafayette campus by calling 765-494-0111.
