Abstracts sought for Working Paper Series' issue on navigating careers in the academy as related to gender, race and class
The Susan Bulkeley Butler Center for Leadership Excellence, in partnership with ADVANCE-Center for Faculty Success, is inviting faculty and graduate students to submit abstracts for its Working Paper Series' spring 2019 issue, titled "Navigating Careers in the Academy: Gender, Race, and Class."
Topics include but are not limited to strategies for diversifying faculty, staff and students; creating inclusive research environments; considering inclusivity in mentoring; and gender biases in the classroom.
Abstracts must be 150 words or less and must be submitted via email to advance-butler@purdue.edu by Jan. 18 for consideration for the spring 2019 issue. Abstracts will be reviewed by the co-editors and the editorial board. If the abstract suggests that the paper is suitable for the Butler Center-ADVANCE Working Paper Series, the author(s) will be invited to turn in the full-length paper for peer review and consideration for publication. Decisions on abstracts will be made within three weeks of receipt of the abstract.
The inaugural issue of the series with invited articles was released in May 2018 and is available online. The fall 2018 issue is expected to be released in January 2019. More information about manuscript submission is available online or by emailing advance-butler@purdue.edu.
