During the month of September, Boilermakers will have the opportunity to help strengthen their community by volunteering in the Purdue Month of Service.

On the Purdue West Lafayette campus and in clubs, networks and affinity groups worldwide, Boilermakers will unite to move the world forward through volunteering.

The United Way of Greater Lafayette and Purdue Alumni Association have partnered to increase volunteerism in Greater Lafayette. More than a hundred volunteer opportunities with nonprofit organizations ranging from health and human services to environmental and animal services are available to Purdue students, faculty and staff. Alumni also are encouraged to coordinate their own service projects in their respective communities and serve with other Boilermakers in clubs and networks across the globe. Volunteer opportunities can be found at www.purduealumni.org/service.

Incentives to volunteering: All Purdue volunteers who register will receive a #PurdueServes T-shirt to wear when volunteering, and the shirts will be available for pickup at Boilermaker Station in Purdue Memorial Union. As an additional incentive, anyone who logs their hours using the Purdue Alumni app will receive a complementary membership in the Purdue Alumni Association, which gives access to member-only events and discounts on Purdue merchandise.

Purdue faculty, staff and students wanting to volunteer during working hours can do so at their supervisor’s discretion.

To register a Purdue team to volunteer, visit www.PurdueAlumni.org/service.
