Purdue Bowlermakers to organize Wednesday

The Purdue Bowlermakers women's bowling league will have an organizational meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 22) in Purdue Memorial Union, Room 258. The group league is seeking new members and/or teams and substitute bowlers.

Teams have three bowlers per session and can have alternates. Bowling takes place at 6 p.m. on Wednesdays starting Aug. 29 in Union Rack and Roll at Purdue Memorial Union -- but on Aug. 29 arriving by 5:45 p.m. would help. The season consists of 30 weeks, ending on April 10. That excludes the Wednesdays near Thanksgiving (Nov. 21), Christmas (Dec. 26) and New Year's Day (Jan. 2). April 17 will be a makeup date.

Membership (sanction) cost is $21-$23 (payable to the Lafayette USBC; not required if 2018-19 membership has been paid in another league), and weekly dues are $8.75 per player for those bowling that week. Those interested in bowling in any of the state tournaments pay a membership fee of $23. Substitute bowlers pay the yearly membership fee of $21.

Lockers are available for rental at $30/year or $15/semester, and shoe rental is $2.25/week.
