Purdue Alumni Association to unite alumnae at Women’s Conference

As Purdue University celebrates 150 years of giant leaps, Purdue alumnae will be gathering Nov. 1-2 in Chicago for the aWomen’s Conference 2018.

This inaugural conference offers professional development sessions, networking and plenary keynotes. Themes include:

* Lead with Kindness: Hear how kindness, passion, creativity, integrity, and hustle are the driving forces behind one entrepreneur’s success.

* Be a Host, Not a Hero: Discover how you can balance a dual-career family, launch your career, and embrace transition and transformation.

* Live Authentically: Learn how to overcome challenges and define your authentic self through a series of positive, thought-provoking, and affirming exercises.

“Our mission is to connect Purdue grads from around the world to share skills, knowledge, and leadership, and be able to inspire and uplift one another,” says Kathleen Kenehan Henson (Liberal Arts ’92).

Henson is one of the driving forces behind the event, as well as a co-founder of the International Council of Purdue Women.

“I’ve been really excited about a lot of the conversations we’ve been having around the council,” Henson says. “People are excited to get to know one another and Purdue is creating a forum for people to connect.”

Jillian Henry, vice president for organizational development and strategic leadership at the Purdue Alumni Association, says, “The response from alumnae has been overwhelmingly positive. We’re looking forward to welcoming women from all over the country, all backgrounds, professions, and stages in life.”

Participation is geared toward women of Purdue, but is open to all. The conference will take place at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile, 540 N. Michigan Ave. Cost is $299 for Purdue Alumni Association members and $349 for nonmembers.
