Lockheed Martin CTO to discuss ‘Innovations on the Horizon of Flight'

Rolls-Royce and Purdue's School of Aeronautics and Astronautics will host Dana “Keoki” Jackson, chief technology officer at Lockheed Martin, on Sept. 24 as part of the Charles Rolls and Henry Royce Lecture Series.

At 5:30 p.m. in Stewart Center's Fowler Hall, in a lecture titled "Innovations on the Horizon of Flight," Jackson will share what’s next on the horizon of flight, what awe-inspiring innovations today’s students will have an opportunity to help pioneer and why this is the most exciting time to be an aerospace engineer in over a generation.

The lecture is free and open to the public. It is part of Purdue’s Giant Leaps Sesquicentennial Campaign.

As CTO, Jackson plays a key role in developing next-generation and generation-after-next technologies for aeronautics and spaceflight. Lockheed Martin is one of the world’s premier aerospace companies, from designing the groundbreaking, fifth-generation F-35 stealth fighter to serving as the prime contractor building NASA’s Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle.

Since 2002, the lecture series has showcased speakers from the aviation and aerospace industries to inspire students who are considering careers in those fields.

The Purdue sesquicentennial

The Purdue University Sesquicentennial Campaign, 150 Years of Giant Leaps, is a yearlong celebration of Purdue, its remarkable people, its unique history and its visionary drive to meet the world’s future challenges. From Homecoming 2018 through Homecoming 2019, the Purdue community will spend the year celebrating its unique legacy, which has included giant leaps across every field of endeavor, and further advancing the mission set forth since its founding as a land-grant university in 1869. With the campaign serving as a springboard for a renewed commitment to growth, innovation and discovery, Purdue’s call is simple: Whatever your pursuit, take Giant Leaps.
