Keith Gehres has been named the next University registrar for the Purdue West Lafayette campus. Gehres will begin his duties on Sept. 17 and will report to Kristina Wong Davis, vice provost for enrollment management.

As the new registrar, Gehres will provide leadership for all operational, financial, personnel, policy and technology activities for the Office of the Registrar, and serves as a key stakeholder and steward for the University student data information systems.

“We look forward to having Keith, with his strong background in enrollment management and extensive leadership experience at a large comprehensive public university, serve Purdue in this capacity,” says Steve Lipps, chair of the search committee, as well as director of enrollment management analysis and reporting, and interim director of financial aid.

Gehres currently serves as the director of outreach and recruitment for undergraduate admissions at The Ohio State University. In this role, Gehres has provided vision and leadership in the development and implementation of strategic planning in reaching enrollment goals. Gehres has led a dynamic team focusing on domestic and international territory management, new first-year and transfer student recruitment, campus visits and events, access and diversity initiatives, student telecounseling, and recruitment publications management.

Gehres is a two-time alumnus of Ohio State, having earned his bachelor’s degree in integrated social studies and his master’s degree in public administration. He began his career in admissions as a student tour guide and telecounselor and has worked in undergraduate admissions for 15 years, all at Ohio State.
