CSSAC welcomes new members, recognizes departing ones
The annual August transition of officers and members of the Clerical and Service Staff Advisory Committee brought Mandy Smith into the role of chair and four new members onto the committee.
Smith, who had been 2017-18 vice chair, succeeds Allen Bol as CSSAC chair. Jeremy Wampler, after election earlier, becomes the 2018-19 vice chair.
At a luncheon Aug. 14, CSSAC also honored members who have completed their terms. They are Bol, Roberta Cain, Cindy Cory, Marla Funk, Michael Hicks and Andi Waibel. Three of those -- Bol, Cory and Waibel -- have been elected to remain with CSSAC for 2018-19 as emeritus members. Emeritus members are nonvoting but provide perspective and experience to help CSSAC work more effectively.
New members are:
* Patti Hauck, Student and Receivables Business Services, District II.
* Wendy Medbourn, International Programs, District I.
* David Montgomery, Consumer Science, District I.
* Kimberly Neuendorf, Office of the Indiana State Chemist.
Bol, speaking to the group, said he was honored to have been chair and pleased at the good things accomplished during the year. He noted especially the value of The Bridge, located on the CSSAC homepage, as a way for employees to raise questions and issues so that CSSAC can find the right answer or right resource for the employee.
Smith, as incoming chair, said she looks forward to using opportunities for communication, notably noticing or receiving word of issues and pointing them out to administrators, as well as sharing information back to employees.
During the luncheon, CSSAC also presented the CSSAC Excellence Awards.
